Modern operating systems (OS) computers aur devices ko efficiently manage karne ke liye design kiye gaye comprehensive software systems hain. Yeh OSes multiple functionalities provide karte hain jo users aur applications ke beech interface ke roop mein kaam karte hain. Modern OS ki kuch prominent examples hain Windows, macOS, Linux, aur mobile operating systems jaise Android aur iOS.

Key Features of Modern Operating Systems

->1. Multi-tasking:

Modern OSes multi-tasking support karte hain, jisme ek hi samay par multiple applications run kiye ja sakte hain. Isse CPU time effectively allocate kiya jaata hai, jisse overall system performance improve hoti hai.

->2. Multi-user:

Yeh OSes multi-user environments ko support karte hain, jahan ek hi system par multiple users apna apna data aur applications securely access aur manage kar sakte hain. User accounts aur permissions set karke security ensure ki jaati hai.

->3. Memory Management:

Memory management ek critical function hai jo RAM aur storage ko efficiently manage karta hai. Virtual memory techniques use karke OS larger programs ko bhi execute kar sakte hain jo physical RAM se zyada memory demand karte hain.

->4. Process Management:

OS processes ko create, schedule, aur terminate karta hai. Yeh process management techniques, jaise process scheduling algorithms, ensure karti hain ki CPU time fairly aur efficiently allocate ho.

->5. File System Management:

Modern OSes sophisticated file systems provide karte hain jo data ko hierarchical structure mein organize karte hain. Yeh file systems data security, integrity, aur efficient access ensure karte hain.

->6. Security and Access Control:

OS security mechanisms implement karta hai jo unauthorized access aur potential threats se system ko protect karte hain. Access control policies, firewalls, aur encryption techniques security ko enhance karte hain.

->7. Device Management:

Device management ke through OS different hardware components ko manage karta hai, jaise printers, disk drives, aur network interfaces. Device drivers hardware aur software ke beech communication enable karte hain.

Popular Modern Operating Systems:

Windows:

Microsoft ka Windows OS widespread use mein hai, primarily personal computers aur business environments mein. Windows user-friendly interface aur extensive software compatibility ke liye jana jata hai.

macOS:

Apple ka macOS primarily Apple computers par run hota hai. Yeh OS sleek design aur integration with other Apple products ke liye famous hai.

Linux:

Linux ek open-source OS hai jo customization aur flexibility offer karta hai. Yeh various distributions mein available hai, jaise Ubuntu, Fedora, aur CentOS, aur servers, desktops, aur embedded systems mein use hota hai.

Android:

Google ka Android OS primarily mobile devices aur tablets par run hota hai. Yeh OS open-source nature aur extensive app ecosystem ke liye popular hai.

iOS:

Apple ka iOS primarily iPhones aur iPads par run hota hai. Yeh OS security aur seamless integration with Apple ecosystem ke liye jana jata hai.

In conclusion, modern operating systems technology backbone hain jo computers aur devices ko efficiently aur securely operate karte hain, users ko ek seamless experience provide karte hain.
