Animal rescue is a much-needed communal service that helps to insulate animals from critical positions that often involve cruelty and abuse. Generally, it is simple to villainize the civilians who abandon their animals, but as animal advocates, we must keep in mind that usually people are surrendering as they believe it is best for the animal or they’ve tried everything else.

AN EYE-CATCHING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANIMAL RESCUE AND ANIMAL SHELTER.

The differences between animal shelters and animal rescues can be difficult to pin down. This is because there is a great level of certainty and flexibility enclosing the two terms. Some places that illustrate the term “animal rescue” broadly might even setup animal shelters as a subgroup of animal rescues. If there were to be a key difference it would be that generally speaking, animal shelters tend to have facilities that house animals whereas animal rescues are typically foster-based organizations. Many animal rescue also participate with boarding facilities to house their animals adding to the ambiguity between the two.

DO YOU THINK ANIMALS DESERVE TO SUFFER?

There are farm sanctuaries that focus on giving a hand to those rescued farmed animals and enabling them to live in peace. I’m sure you were not aware of some municipal shelters for fragile street animals that make them feel homely. If there is an animal in need, there is likely an institution that has stepped up to help, this is especially true of the species that are intermittently in need.

NOTE WORTHY STATISTICS

A recent study brings to light that India has 80 million homeless dogs, cats, has highest levels of abandonment: Relinquishment levels are higher in India than on a global level with half (50 per cent) of current and previous owners stating they have relinquished a pet in the past, compared to 28 per cent on a global level. About 34 per cent said they have abandoned a dog on the streets, and 32 per cent have abandoned a cat.

Some statistics shared below which will surely make you smile.

Approximately 2 million dogs are adopted each year. These dogs come as strays, owner surrenders, cruelty seizures to earn responsibilities and rehabilitation at shelters. Though there are many rescues that accept strays or owner surrenders, many also target on pulling dogs from animal shelters in order to make space for additional intakes and continue the ongoing trend of condensing the number of dogs euthanized every year in shelters.

Approximately 2.1 million cats are adopted each year. Cats of all ages, conditions, and with a vast array of needs enter into secured doors for the respective representative to bring about appropriate outcomes. Whether be it transfer to a facility or rescue, being able to take care for these needy creatures, best is to place them up for adoption, or seeking a return to their owner.

How can you make a small difference?

In today’s fast paced world where every single person is facing a challenge with effectively managing depression, petting a stray animal can do wonders. Additionally, the pandemic has not been very productive for everyone. You can do your little bit by adopting a stray dog or cat from the homeless streets and giving them a comfortable home environment.

On the other hand, if you’re not an animal lover, the least you can do is contact an animal rescue agency where the respective animal can get shelter for further adoption. You can also, attempt to fund an animal’s living till they get adopted.
