Your Guide to Who It's OK to Hug at Work | The Muse

Employees who say they have a best friend at work are more productive and more likely to be engaged. There is a certain bonding between each other which helps them to work quickly and efficiently. They both can motivate each other to do better at work. Workplace friendships can increase productivity and boost morale. A study of employees by U.K based team company 'Wildgoose' found that more than half (57%) of workers say that having a best friend at work makes their work more enjoyable, while (22%) argue that it makes them as or more productive. It seems that many workers who don't have strong relationships in the workplace may be struggling with loneliness since (15%) of those who don't have a best friend would ideally want to be with one. Its good to have people whom we care about and who cares for us. Maintaining friendships with people at work is not only socially healthy. It's also a great way to learn about areas of the business outside of your team, expertise, and skill set. Plus it makes our work journey more fun. So finding ways around to make both the friendship and the professionals. Having friendship at work place helps us with strong relationships, mutual respect, a shared sense of humor. Coming to work becomes less of an obligation and more of something to look forward to. Making friends at work is easy and mostly good for you and your organization. By managing your friendships in a professional setting properly, you will have more fun at work, learn to relax a little and start to learn things about yourself and the organization you are part of.
