The first day of school is such a special milestone, filled with excitement, curiosity, and perhaps one or two nervous moments. It’s always a proud day of memories to treasure for parents. It is proven that children are more at ease if they know what to expect. Start talking about school in simple and positive ways. Tell them how much fun it will be to be at school and build stories up like you’ll make new friends, you will get introduced to newer toys and newer games. Emphasize that school is a place where caring teachers and new friends await them.
Make goodbyes calm and short.
On the first day, ensure that the goodbyes are positive and short. Too lengthy a farewell contributes to making it more difficult for the parent and child to separate. Smile, cuddle, and say you will be back soon. Teachers are experienced at helping children settle, so trust them to comfort your little one.
