Life of a 2020-2021 student

As a student my self I will like to express my opinion and thoughts. Before COVID, when everything was normal it was easy to interact with the academy everything is in front of us although it took time it was easy. But since the pandemic everything has become online. It is digital and quick but still is not safe as offline. Students before pandemic are extrovert because they use to go physically, interact with people, they have a good knowledge of people skills. But now it’s like we haven’t met even a single new person other than our family members. Students right now are more introvert and love their comfort zone. This is the age where students (teenagers) love to be out of the house, be on the world, make new friends. But they can’t because of COVID.

It’s easy for everyone to say that it’s easy in online, students don’t have to go to school and colleges instead they just have to sit at home and just listen. But I as a student, I’ll tell you it’s not that easy. Home is a comfort place and no matter how hard we try we always get distracted by some thing it can be our own family or a event going on in the colony etc. It’s easy for me to understand in a class room sitting in front of the teacher. It helps me to focus on studies and nothing else. Yes there are ways to not get distracted on the internet https://www.vu.edu.au/about-vu/news-events/study-space/6-ways-to-avoid-social-media-distraction-while-learning-online.

People come to me and say “Your life is so easy and simple, you just have to get up in the morning attend the online lecture and after lecture you are free for the entire day witch I agree is true but there is a bigger picture. It’s hard to concentrate and understand in online lecture teacher are doing their best to make everything easy enough to make us understand. And if some how we pass with good mark, at the time to apply for job the company will hesitate and think a lot before keeping us for jobs. They will think that we passed because the syllabus was too easy and we won’t be able to complete their task, which some where can be true for some students.

So, to summaries everything please don’t lower a student’s confidence by say “It’s easy for you” because it’s harder then before. Encourage them by saying “Only you guys have the power to go through this phase, that’s why God choose 2020–2021 students “

Thank you
