Cristiano Ronaldo is a legend when it comes to the sport. He is considered to be one of the greatest players of all time and is often called the best ever, alongside Lionel Messi. Ronaldo has won the Player of the Year award in England, Spain, and Italy. He also received FIFA’s new “The Best” Award. and has won six Ballon D'ors which is an award granted to the player who performs best in that particular year. English Premier League (3 times), UEFA Champions League (5 times), La Liga (2 times), Serie A (2 times), FIFA Club World Cup (4 times)
And this list just goes on and on, but these are just some of the few notable awards that he has won after he has turned 30.
He started his career in the sport in a team called Sporting Lisbon which is a part of the Portuguese Leage in Portugal, which is also his birth place. Just as friendly matches happen, Sporting Lisbon happened to be facing off against Manchester United who at the time, were considered to be the best team on the planet. Ronaldo's performance in the match was so amazing that in an interview, Rio Ferdinand, who was a player in the match, said that the players who were marking Cristiano Ronaldo were gasping for every bit of air because of how skillful he was. And that alone was enough for Manchester United to sign the player. He then proceeded to play for United for 6 years in which he became one of the best players in the world while sporting the number 7. His time there ofcourse attracted alot of attention from the other big teams across the globe and one of them happened to be Los Galacticos, Real Madrid. This was a dream come true for him as it had been a lifelong dream of his to play for Real Madrid because of the prestigious history behind the club.
Real Madrid signed Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009. It was a world record transfer at that time. At Real, he was provided the number nine jersey. In his first season at Real Madrid, he scored 33 goals in all competitions. He proved the fact that he is well worth the record transfer fee that Real Madrid spent on him. He then went on to win everything possible in the 9 seasons he played for the club, but Ronaldo is a person who has always wanted new challenges. He then decided to move to a new country for some new fresh football experience. That transfer did break alot of hearts but it gained new ones as the Italian giants set records in their sales and stocks after announcing Ronaldo as their new signing. He spent a solid 3 years in which he wrote his name in the club's history by becoming the fastest player to score 100 goals for the club. After spending 3 successful seasons, he wanted some more challanges and even at the age of 36, he wasn't satisfied. He then left Juventus and decided to return to the club that gave him the spotlight he deserved, Manchester United.
His international records are something that can only be achieved through games. They just seem too unrealistic. He is the top scorer in all of international football with 117 goals and nobody is close to even reaching his record, let alone beating him. He also won the EURO 2016 Cup which is a competition for all the countries within Europe. He has always been the center of attraction when it comes to Portugal because he has achieved it all for the country and has set the standards very high for the country.
He now plays for Manchester United and has scored 18 goals in the league alone in a team that is filled with unexperienced players. It is considered to be his greatest achievement in his career because of how weak the team around him is.
