Shaniwara wada 

Shaniwara wada is an fortfication of 18th century build in 1732 in the pune city in maharastra, India its approximately 285 year old fortification . It was the seat to the ruler of maratha empire . Shaniwar wada was the capital of peshwas of maratha empire it was built by peshwas baji rao and ceremonial And its located in pune city at bajirao road , shaniwar peth . It was the most complicated and complex design of that time movies like bajirao mastani and panipat has featured the shaniwar wada in their movies. One of the significant highlights to visit shaniwar wada is the light and sound show that happens directly at the core of the wada The shaniwar wada was the seven storied buliding of peshwas the entire building was supposed to be built with stone .after 90 years, britain artillery attacked on shaniwar wada and the six stories were destroyed leaving only stone base hence only the stone base of the shaniwar wada reamains and seen even today In june 1818 bajirao give his kingdom to john malcolm of british east india company and went into political exile at bithoor Shaniwar wada has Fives gates. 

1. Dilli darwaza that faces north is the main gate of complex 

2. Mastani darwaza  that facing north it was only use by the mastani while travelling outside 

3. Khidki darwaz thats faces east because containing armoured windows 

4. Ganesh darwaz it was facing south east this gate was uesd only by the ladies to visit nearby kasba ganapati temple 

5 .jambhul/Narayan darwaz facing south this gate was used by concubine to enter and leave the fort 

The best time to visit  is between july to feburay 

We can go through  by roads by rails by air also 

There are so many other place to visit in the pune
