Smartphones are becoming more and more popular in India, with the number of smartphone users growing every year and mobile data usage increasing significantly as well. So what are the biggest smartphone companies in India? In this post, we’ll discuss the top smartphone companies in India based on market share and user preference to help you decide which smartphone company to choose next time you want to upgrade your phone.

1) Xiaomi

Xiaomi is a Chinese multinational electronics company founded in April 2010 and headquartered in Beijing. Xiaomi makes and invests in smartphones, mobile apps, laptops, home appliances, bags, shoes, consumer electronics, and many other products. As of 2022, Xiaomi is the number 1 brand in the Indian Smartphone Market with a 26.6% market share. The only challenger to their throne is Samsung. The rest of the competition comes from companies like Oppo, Vivo, and Realme which are all fighting for what's left of the pie. With its wide range of budget-friendly phones that boast excellent quality; it's no wonder that Xiaomi has taken over so much of India's phone market share.

2) Samsung

Samsung has been the top smartphone company in India by market share for a while now. In fact, they have almost double the market share of their nearest competitor, Xiaomi. This is due in part to their wide range of phones at different price points, as well as their extensive marketing efforts. Plus, Samsung has a strong distribution network which helps them reach more consumers. As of 2022, Samsung is in the 2nd position brand in the Indian Smartphone Market with a 16.7% market share. There are many reasons for this but the primary one seems to be that the Galaxy S22 series is a high-end phone with all of the latest bells and whistles. It's also relatively affordable when compared to other flagship models from companies like Apple and Google.

3) Vivo

Vivo is a Chinese technology company owned by BBK Electronics that designs and manufactures smartphones, smartphone accessories, software, and online services. The company was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Dongguan, Guangdong. As of 2019, Vivo had a market share of 24.2 percent in India. In the first quarter of 2017, Vivo became the third largest seller in terms of shipments volume following Xiaomi and Samsung. This is thanks to their affordable yet high-quality smartphones that have been popular with Indian consumers. Realme is a subsidiary of Oppo, another Chinese smartphone company. As of 2022, Oppo is the 5th position brand in the Indian Smartphone Market with an 11.42% market share. It has grown at a CAGR of 8.37%.
This growth is driven by the popularity of its smartphones models F3, A3s and R15 Pro among others as well as its heavy investments in digital marketing campaigns.
Oppo’s marketing strategy focuses on celebrity endorsements like Kylie Jenner, Shah Rukh Khan etc., it engages with customers through social media channels like Facebook and Twitter as well as conducting contests to engage users on Instagram etc.
Some other aspects which help promote the product include discounts on popular e-commerce websites such as Amazon and Flipkart during festive seasons such as Diwali and Ganesh Chaturthi etc.

6) Apple

Apple is no stranger to success. The company has been a market leader in the smartphone industry for years, and its iPhones are some of the most popular devices on the market. In India, Apple holds a strong market share, thanks to its high-quality products and loyal customer base. While other companies may have more affordable options, Apple's premium phones continue to be a hit with Indian consumers. And in 2018, Apple sold nearly 6 million units - that's over 4% of all smartphones sold! That’s quite an accomplishment considering the country’s relatively small population (1.3 billion). And though it might not seem like much, that market share is pretty significant - even when compared to other countries such as China or Japan!. As of 2022, Apple market share in India is close to 3.86%.

7) Oneplus
