A modern operating system is a complex software that serves as the foundation for running applications and managing computer hardware. It provides a user-friendly interface, facilitates multitasking, and ensures efficient resource allocation. 

modern operating systems: 

  • Windows: Developed by Microsoft, Windows is the most widely used operating system for personal computers. It offers a graphical user interface (GUI), supports a wide range of software, and provides features like multitasking, virtual memory, and device management. 
  • macOS: Developed by Apple, macOS is the operating system used on Mac computers. It is known for its sleek design, ease of use, and seamless integration with other Apple devices. It provides a rich multimedia experience and includes features like Siri voice assistant and iCloud storage. 
  • Linux: Linux is an open-source operating system that offers flexibility, security, and customization options. It comes in various distributions (distros) like Ubuntu, Fedora, and Debian, catering to different user needs. Linux is widely used in servers, embedded systems, and as an alternative to other operating systems. 
  • Android: Developed by Google, Android is a mobile operating system used by a majority of smartphones and tablets. It provides a customizable interface, access to a vast app ecosystem via Google Play Store, and integrates with Google services. Android is based on the Linux kernel and offers features like multi-user support and virtual assistant integration. 
  • Many other modern operating systems are there such as IOS , CHROME OS , FreeBSD , etc.
